Real Positive Poles are a group of award winning Bristol based improvisers with a passion for big ideas and science fiction. We take inspiration from your favourite shows to create brand new episodes based on audience suggestions.
Our main show is “After Dusk: The Improvised Twilight Zone.” A dive into the the audience’s imagination in the style of The Twilight Zone, the 1960’s forerunner to Black Mirror. Sometimes dark, often mysterious and always fun!
We have performed at the Edinburgh, Brighton & Swindon Fringe Festivals as well as all over Bristol including at the Old Vic, in the crypt of St John and the Bristol Improv Theatre.

Other shows
We love to stretch our improv muscles into a variety of different genres. Other shows we have created are:
- Spon Trek: The Next Improvisation is a big, silly parody of Star Trek taking a suggestion of the episode title the audience always wanted to see and creating completely from scratch!
- The Y Files is a mysterious peer into a filing cabinet full stuffed to the brim records of the peculiar, the unexplained and the downright paranormal. Full of questions but there’s only one that really matters: do you want to believe?
- Storm Compass is what happens when you take the sprawling 3 hour sci-fi epic that is Cloud Atlas and condense it down into just 45 minutes. We follow one theme through different characters born across time.
All our shows are designed to be suitable for all levels of knowledge about the source material, including none at all!
